Who are Friends of Wood End (FoWE)?

Friends of Wood End is a registered charity. Our main purpose is to raise funds for Wood End School. All parents and carers of children at Wood End School are automatically members of FoWE as are all the Staff.

We have a committee made up of two co-chairs, a secretary, two co-communications officers and two co-treasurers. We also have a team of FoWE Class Reps who represent FoWE in each year group and a wider team of volunteers who help organise activities and events.

How do we raise money?

We raise funds for the School by organising events, activities and services that parents and children might need or enjoy. These include summer and Christmas fairs, children’s discos, quiz nights and uniform sales.

What do we spend the money on?

Our aim is to use the money we raise to enrich and enhance our children’s learning and social experience at Wood End School. The sort of things that we have bought or contributed to over the last few years include: eqipment for the Learning Hub including the VR headsets, books for the new Learning Hub library, classroom refurbishment, playground equipment and computing equipment.

How can you help?

There are lots of ways you can help us with our fundraising activities from volunteering at an event, joining a team to help plan an event or volunteering as a member of our Committee. Roles are varied so there is a job to suit everyone. You can also come along to one of our half-termly FoWE meetings (7:45pm in the staffrom) where we discuss fundraising ideas and how to spend our funds. We would love to hear your views and ideas! If you'd like to come please let us know and we will email you a copy of the agenda. fowe@woodend.herts.sch.uk
