Gardening Club

Gardening club takes place in the Spring and Summer terms.

This year Garden Club entered both the District in Bloom and Harpenden in Bloom schools’ competitions and thanks to the skills and enthusiasm of our club members, we have been successful in a number of categories.

In the Harpenden in Bloom competition, we gained a Gold medal for the most creative planter and a Gold award for the sunflower with the most heads – ours had 65!! In the District competition, we were awarded runner up in the Vibrant Veg and we were the winner of the Scrapyard Scarecrow.

We also have a wonderful new shed, which has been funded by a private donation. This is much larger than our old shed and will enable us to store equipment efficiently and also to start some plants off earlier in the year, whatever the weather, helping to enhance our garden even more.

None of this could happen without our dedicated team of parent helpers, who have given so much time and enthusiasm to help the children develop a love of gardening.
